Our Origin

Regan Traub, HR LeaderHi, I’m Regan MacBain Traub, Founder of The Human Resource Consortium. For the past 3 decades, I’ve been known for advancing the vision of HR’s true potential as a performance catalyst by guiding successful organizational culture and HR transformation in addition to advancing the profession through volunteer leadership.

My belief in the potentiality of higher value from HR and organizational development emerged from seeing remarkable success of aligned and integrated solutions within healthcare, financial services, and global manufacturing operations.

For decades, Peter Senge’s approaches, disciplines, and framework of seeing and creating ‘the interrelationships within the whole’ have substantially increased efficacy within highly successful organizations’ operations, finance, IT, and engineering… but, not HR. Why not? Untapped and significant organizational value resides within HR, too.

In 1995, The Human Resource Consortium was the first comprehensive and integrated solutions-based, HR and organizational development consultancy on the East Coast. And in 2017, David Ulrich, PhD. (globally renowned Father of Modern HR), completed global research proving the delivery of 400% increase in organizational performance and value through integrated systems in HR & OD.

Robert Macbain

For the first 25 years of our firm’s history, I was blessed with the insight, wisdom, encouragement and partnership of my father by my side to develop and lead The Human Resource Consortium. He passed in 2021. Thank you, Dad, for the gifts of strategic thinking (teaching me to play chess and to sail when I was 8), the courage to lead a path less chosen, mindset to instill business in the heart of HR, the balance of solid analytics with grounded intuition, exceptional integrity, and humility which you have shared with me throughout your life. You have been an inspiration and grounding force. Your sage spirit and advice will remain with us and those we mentor, going forward.
