One of the largest, global insurance companies had completed a recent, sizable merger and was actively looking to implement artificial intelligence (AI) to a much higher degree. They recognized that to effectively integrate the organizations and implement AI, they would need to complete a significant amount of strategizing, organizational redesign, executive coaching, change management, and training. While they had a robust Talent Management Team, they lacked Organization Development expertise and obtained approval to create the role of VP, OD. We were called upon to complete this tall order search with the new hire to start in 90-120 days.
The desired individual had to have industry experience and solid organization design, development, executive coaching and consulting expertise. Further, they needed to have a master’s degree in a related field, conversational to fluent Spanish to support Latin America and proven ability in developing and implementing strategies in Diversity & Inclusion. The firm was not open to a relocation candidate. Within 30 days (over the holidays), we submitted our recommendation of four candidates. All four were invited for initial interviews. Three were invited back for 2nds and two were brought back for 3rd and 4th interviews with various HR and business executives both domestic and global. They ultimately decided on one of the two finalists who met all of their desired qualifications, accepted the offer and started two weeks later. And, the business leaders were waiting in line with projects to welcome their new VP, OD
