Jim Oddo
Talent Acquisition & Retained Search Practice Leader
Jim Oddo is a senior Talent Acquisition and HR leader with more than 30 years of experience building, transforming, and leading talent functions across telecommunications, healthcare, and technology organizations. He additionally brings a rare blend of both executive search and operational leadership expertise, having led both enterprise HR strategy and field operations at scale.
In 2018, Jim founded a Connecticut-based, boutique search firm focused on corporate leadership, technology, and sales roles. As a former Fortune 20 Head of Talent, he has continually aligned himself to operate as a true extension of client HR teams—advising on talent strategy, executive search, process design, and modern talent technology. His work integrates AI-enabled tools, structured assessment methodologies, and consultative search practices to deliver high-impact hiring outcomes.
Previously, Jim spent 12 years at Frontier Communications (NASDQ: FTR), a $10B telecommunications company with 30,000 employees across 29 states. He served in multiple executive roles, including SVP of Human Resources & Talent and Area General Manager with full P&L responsibility. He built Frontier’s talent acquisition function from the ground up, centralizing hiring operations to support more than 6,000 hires annually, implementing enterprise HR technology platforms, and leading executive search across the organization. His work in inclusive and veteran hiring practices received White House recognition in 2014.
Earlier in his career, Jim held leadership roles at UnitedHealthcare (NYSE: UNH), managing regional recruitment operations and high-volume hiring strategy. At CDI Corporation he led one of the first managed staffing operations (MSP) with full revenue accountability. Prior to CDI, he focused on nationwide recruitment and staffing of Physical and Occupational Therapists as well as Speech and Language Pathologists.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs from the University of Rhode Island. Jim currently serves on the Board of Directors for The WorkPlace’s Platform to Employment program and is actively involved in business leadership initiatives in Connecticut. He previously served on the Connecticut Technology Council and the Return to Work Business Collaborative
