Bruce R. NicholsBruce is a Fortune 100 executive with a proven track record leading HR, organizational communications, occupational safety and business relations across multiple industries including insurance, banking & finance, technology, and renewable energy. He has consistently demonstrated success in driving organizational growth and operational efficacy through strategic talent management, workforce realignment, leadership development, process efficiency, and technology implementation. His leadership experience has included strategic business partner and HR leadership for a Fortune 100 global technology team across 16 countries, Head of HR for a renewable energy company with facilities in the US, Europe, and Asia as well as Head of HR Services and Employee Relations for a Fortune 500 organization.

Prior to joining The Human Resource Consortium, Bruce led HR for a technology team at Liberty Mutual focusing on workforce strategies. There he delivered millions of dollars in savings through talent optimization, alignment of people planning, and cloud technology transitions. As HR leader for multiple CIOs, he was able to align workforce strategies across multiple lines of business to enable effective action-based talent planning and succession strategies to create opportunities for high-potential leaders to attain executive roles.

Previously, as the HR Leader for Wheelabrator Technologies, Bruce led the HR due diligence process for the $2B private equity acquisition of the company including the design and implementation of a new organization including HRIS, payroll, and Total Rewards. With the transition to private equity he built an HR business partner model to align people initiatives with business strategies and partnered with the CFO to author and integrate a new Total Rewards and Annual Incentive Program focusing on corporate strategy, business unit metrics, and individual performance.

At Citizens Financial, in his role as the VP HR Services and Employee Relations, Bruce developed and implemented a new HR service delivery model covering 26,000 employees across 42 states, centralized employee relations and operations processes which resulted in improved service efficiency and laid a strategic foundation for business support.

Most recently, in consulting roles, Bruce has leveraged best practices from prior roles, scaled HR operations for companies from start-ups to a large company with assets in the US and Canada. In multiple interim CHRO and fractional leadership roles, Bruce established and directed HR functions for companies in construction, commercial cleaning, and technology to implement a new payroll system and practices, regulatory policies, handbooks, and labor law compliance to support growth and employee management.

Graduating from Norwich University, the nation’s oldest private military school, with a degree in accounting he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant with the US Army. Bruce served with the 82nd Airborne Division leading fire support teams and operational roles responsible for the training and development of paratroopers ensuring their preparedness for operations outside of the US.
