The HRC Team ConsultantYvonne Alverio is a professional in the field of culture change and most particularly, workforce diversity and inclusion. Her culture shift work has enabled large-scale organization initiatives to facilitate organization expansion into new markets, increase market share, customize product offerings to diverse markets, effectively offshore business processes, conduct high-velocity turnarounds, enhance community relations, develop internal-external collaboration and increase profitability through improved innovation, performance, and quality. Yvonne also excels in internally focused work to develop trust, teamwork, innovation, employee engagement, retention, leadership mindsets and capability as well as to develop and implement rapid culture change through HR. In addition to strategic DEI, Yvonne consults in organizational and leadership development and executive coaching in addition to strategies and practices to enhance employee relations, recruitment and retention. Her expert level capability in designing, developing, delivering and implementing processes, tools and toolkits, practices and educational programs for leaders, managers, staff, internal trainers and HR consistently provides clients with exceptional results.

Yvonne’s experience in the public and private sectors includes leading and managing diversity and inclusion strategic planning, systems and practices, staffing programs, teambuilding and executive coaching. She has appeared in several diversity training films and has authored articles on diversity and inclusion which have been published in newspapers and national magazines. Yvonne has consulted to entrepreneurial, mid-sized, and Fortune 500 firms in academia, financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, nonprofit, oil and gas, professional services, publishing, retail, utility, and state and municipal governmental organizations. She has utilized her bi-lingual Spanish skills in consulting to and educating organizations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Additionally, she designed and led project management training for the USMC in Japan.

Prior to external consulting, as Head of Workforce Diversity at Aetna Life & Casualty, Yvonne led the firm’s development and implementation of strategies, systems, and management practices to support a worldwide, high performing, diverse and inclusive workforce. Previously, she worked as Corporate Director of Diversity and Staffing for Lotus Development Corporation as well as Diversity and Employee Relations Manager, Human Resources Manager and Affirmative Action Manager for Wang Laboratories. In the governmental sector, she served as Minority/Women Business Enterprise Program Manager for the Environmental Protection Agency, Employment and Training Manager for the City of Boston and Social Worker for the State of Connecticut. Yvonne also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was appointed as HR Advisor while serving as a Reservist for the Connecticut National Guard from which she retired after twenty-seven years of service.

Yvonne earned her B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and completed graduate work in Human Resource Management. Additionally, she earned her CPC [Certified Professional Coach] Certification through the Professional Coach Academy. Throughout her life, in addition to her work and military service, Yvonne has provided volunteer support and Board leadership to a number of community and national organizations including CWEALF, Interval House, Interfaith Coalition, and the YWCA.
